Targeted water loss evaluation services were performed for the City of Springfield through the installation of six solid-state zone meters with data loggers at strategic locations throughout the distribution system. Minimum nighttime flow analyses were conducted for each sub-zone to evaluate system performance and identify potential leakage. By comparing observed flows to legitimate nighttime consumption and unavoidable annual real losses, the project provided valuable insight into water loss conditions and helped prioritize future leak detection and water loss reduction efforts.
